Some very basic measurements. He needed to know how much wood was needed, but mostly wanted to make sure the ceiling fan wasn’t going to be in the way or in a place it could potentially hurt her.
Not the best work space but he made work for some basic cuts
The width all worked out…
…and the length.
The start of the frame.
Frame from the front.
So far she loves it! Computer desk needed of course.
She could hardly wait for him to finish to play Minecraft on the computer.
So he put her to work.
The slide and ladder area has been set.
Ladder in place, mattress ready!
Add some MDF layered walls (It’s light, easy to cut and cheaper than plywood).
Original slide angle turned out to be dangerously fast, so against her wishes (she loved the rocket slide) her father had to adjust the angle twice before she no longer needed cushions to collide with.
Another small window added in.
A splash of color.
Then the final touches, a blanket as a curtain door and a bunch of stuffed animals.
Here’s the finished product. Can’t see it very well but her “secret” entrance/exit is at the end of the slide behind another purple blanket door.
