iPhone 4 Unlock

JailbreakMe provided a great way to jailbreak the iPhone 4 which lead to the release of ultrasn0w 1.0-1, upon install of which, iPhone 4 is unlocked to work with any carrier. In this post I will be going over how to go through with the process of unlocking your iPhone 4. All in all, it’s a very simple process so let’s get to it then:

Step 1:

First of all, for unlocking your iPhone you will need to have it jailbroken, this is easily achievable by going to http://jailbreakme.com on the iPhone Safari. If you have any trouble with jailbraking just read our step by step guide to jailbraking your iPhone we published earlier on geekfill.

Step 2:

On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Network and disable 3G.

Step 3:

add repository

Open Cydia: Go to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add and enter the repository: http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com

Now Reboot your iPhone.

Step 4:

install ultrasn0w

Open Cydia again, click search and search for: ultrasn0w, before installing ultrasn0w make sure it’s version 1.0-1 or you won’t be able to run it on iPhone 4. Now just install & confirm.

Step 5:

Reboot your iPhone one last time and you should have a carrier unlocked iPhone in your hands.

Pretty easy haan?

Share it! Internet fame awaits

So ios 4.0.2 was released recntly, I can only hope that everyone remembered to backup their blobs for 4.0.1 otherwise there’s no going back once they have to restore or update
