Facetime

If you have been waiting for just the right reason to Jailbreak your iPhone 4, I may be able to give you one. Jailbreaking your iPhone can allow you to use Facetime over 3G. One of the most compelling feature of the new Apple iPhone 4 is video calls using Facetime. Apple brought in a great feature but they restrained it’s coolness by limiting it to be used only over a WiFi Connection. Jailbreaking your iPhone may void your warranty, but it gives you Facetime over your carrier’s 3G network.

To enable this compelling feature you’ll have to do the following:

Step 1:

Jailbreak your all new iPhone 4.

Step 2:

Go to the Almighty & banned Cydia.

Step 3:

Add this repository in sources: http://apt.modmyi.com

Step 4:

Locate and install an application called My3G.

The main purpose of this application is to allow the WiFi only applications to function over the 3G network. It’s obvious that the quality of the video call may be a bit morbid compared to what it presents over a WiFi connection. But the flexibility of using Facetime over 3G is neat enough to ignore the quality.

Share it! Internet fame awaits
